Description

Every day, officers respond to people in crisis — and what looks like defiance, resistance, or a “bad attitude” is often something else entirely: a trauma response. This one-day course gives law enforcement professionals the knowledge and field-ready skills to recognize trauma when they see it, respond in ways that de-escalate rather than inflame, and build safer outcomes for everyone on scene.

Participants will:

  • Understand how trauma affects the brain and behavior in the people they encounter
  • Recognize trauma responses in the field — and stop mistaking them for defiance
  • Apply compassionate, trauma-informed communication that reduces escalation
  • Practice these skills in realistic, hands-on scenarios before they need them on shift

This isn’t theory for theory’s sake. It’s practical training built for the street, designed to help officers walk away sharper, safer, and more equipped to handle the moments that matter most.
